Oakbridge Nursery news
Thu 09 Nov 2023This week in Nursery we’ve had some very naughty buses come to visit, luckily our nursery children have been able to remember all our green rules to help our naughty bus with making the right choice.
The children have been counting people onto the bus, as well as discussing journeys of where we can go to on a bus, we’ve also been using our imaginations to think where and what we might see on the bus... bet you’ve never seen a dinosaur and a fire breathing dragon on the 336!? The children & the naughty buses have been going on different adventures, we haven’t been driving through muddy puddles we’ve been driving through messy BEANS and blue slush, what will we get up too next?

YR1 Hummingbird Class News @FP
Thu 09 Nov 2023Hummingbird class @FP had an enjoyable time re-enacting the story, ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ by Judith Kerr.
As part of their writing, they wrote sentences about parts of the story. Most of the children remembered to include capital letters and full stops. Well done children!
Hummingbird class were looking forward to attending their very own tea-party, but sadly, Mr Bond informed them that the ‘tiger’ had ruined it. Mysteriously, someone provided some yummy treats, so the children were able to have their tea-party after all. Who could that person be?
The children have been using their developing knowledge about ‘parts and wholes’ by putting ‘Fraction Girl’ back together again. They are also getting better at explaining what a ‘whole’ is, and how to make ‘parts’ using a range of objects.
Keep up the good work Hummingbird Class!

YR5 Mcaw Class News @FP
Tue 07 Nov 2023The children are enjoying their swimming lessons and they love spending time in the water. They have recently been learning about the importance of water safety, and have enjoyed playing games in the pool during their sessions.
In English, we have been enjoying looking at short stories. To encoorportae this with Halloween, the children were excited to write their own ‘Spooky’ short story. We looked at different ways to open a short story in order to catch the reader's attention. We also looked at short sentences to create tension and the diamond moment, where the writer makes one important part of their story really stand out and shine! Take a look at the wonderful writing of the children in Macaw class.
