YR6 Eagle Class News @FP
Fri 15 May 2026Lately Eagle Class @FP have shown wonderful enthusiasm and commitment while spending time outdoors, supporting both our forest school and school garden. They have taken great care in watering the planters and helping to prepare the science garden, getting everything ready for planting.
As part of Science Week last half term, Eagle Class proudly supported both KS1 and KS2 in our whole-school gardening competition. It has been lovely to see their efforts as they continue to help plant and regularly water them in the garden. Their sense of responsibility and pride in their work has been clear to see.
Eagle Class are also eager supporters of our Eco Warriors, showing a genuine passion for making our school a more environmentally friendly space for everyone. Many of the children offer daily to spend time in the garden helping out, which is truly lovely to witness.
It has been especially exciting to see that some of the plants are still continuing to grow even after the competition. One child was delighted to share their late-sprouting bud, proudly bringing it in to show how it is now beginning to grow which is an excellent reminder that patience in gardening can be rewarded.
The class have also become fantastic role models for younger children, helping to care for plants around the playground and confidently answering questions about how they grow. Their knowledge, kindness, and enthusiasm are inspiring others to take an interest in the natural world.
Well done, Eagle Class, for your dedication and for helping our school community flourish!

YR5 Falcon Class News @FP
Tue 12 May 2026This term, Falcon Class @FP transformed into a bustling workshop as the children took on the challenge of designing and building their own wooden bridges. To ensure their structures were sturdy and stable, the students practised accurately measuring every piece of wood before making precise cuts with junior hacksaws. With safety at the forefront of their minds, they carefully used glue guns to join their components together, bringing their technical drawings to life. It was wonderful to see such focus and craftsmanship as they tested their finished bridges to see which designs could withstand the most weight!
In more exciting news, Falcon Class is celebrating after winning five beautiful fruit trees to enhance our school grounds! The children took a trip down to the Forest School area to carefully dig the soil and find the perfect spots for our new additions. It was a fantastic hands-on lesson in nature conservation as everyone worked together to ensure the saplings were planted securely. We are all looking forward to watching these trees grow and eventually harvesting our very own school-grown fruit!

YR3 Parakeet Class News @FP
Tue 12 May 2026Parakeet Class @FP we are looking at features of information texts. We first looked at a report about a Frost Dragon. We designed our own cool dragons. We are beginning to draft a chronological report about our own dragons. We have some amazing ideas. A magical dragon, a lava dragon and a two headed demon dragon to name a few! Have a look at some of our work.
In science we are learning all about sound in science and have been looking at how sound travels through the air. This week we made our own string telephones and tested how they would work best. The children found that they worked better when the string wasn’t too long and was kept taut. We had a lot of fun sending each other messages and then we wrote up what we found out!
On Tuesday the Year 4 children had an amazing time at ‘The Lion King’. The children behaved beautifully and were in awe of the show. The costumes, singing and dancing was amazing. We had a fantastic time. Eduard told me “This is the most beautiful thing I have seen in my life!”

YR5/6 Hawk Class News @FP
Mon 11 May 2026Hawk Class @FP News – D&T: Designing & Making Bags
Hawk Class have been busy learning all about designing and making bags in D&T. We’ve been thinking carefully about our users by asking: What do they like? What type of bag do they need? What features will be useful? How can our design be functional and appealing? The children have practised important sewing techniques, including: running stitch, cross-stitch, and blanket stitch. They’ve learned how to follow a seam allowance to sew neatly and why products are often turned inside out to hide stitches.
It’s been fantastic to see their creativity grow as they design, test (prototype), and improve their ideas. We’re excited to continue developing our bag designs!
