YR5 Magpie Class News @FP
Tue 28 Nov 2023Magpie class @FP have been very busy with their learning during Autumn 2. In English, the children loved creating their own graphic novels inspired by their favourite superheroes and villains. We have some very talented artists!
In history, we have enjoyed continuing our learning around Ancient Greece. We had lots of fun learning about the Greek alphabet and how it links with the English one.
In geography, Magpie students have been practising their map reading and research skills to learn about European countries and their population.
We have been so impressed with the amount of reading Magpie class has been doing. We had nine children collect their free book as a reward for consistent reading over three weeks. Keep it up!

YR6 Hawk Class News @FP
Wed 22 Nov 2023This half term has been all about the TEAM. Both groups of Year 6 students in Hawk Class @FP, whether they were at PGL or enjoying activities in school, were learning – very successfully – to work together in order to complete their tasks.
Those at school, had some yummy goals to meet: making macaroni cheese and pizzas. Well I presume they were tasty as none was saved for our return!
Those at PGL in Surrey met their challenges brilliantly and were a real credit to their parents and the school. Activities ranged from active hiking to steady rifle shooting. They communicated well and surprised themselves. It really was a fantastic week.

Nightingale Class News @FP
Fri 17 Nov 2023In Nightingale class @ FP we have had a great start to the half term. Each day, we have been doing different activities to develop our emotional regulation and communication. We have enjoyed playing the ‘All About Me’ game in which children go round the board and answer questions about themselves. It has helped with sharing information about us and learning about each other.
We have also been looking at the sizes of problems we might come across in our lives and thinking about whether they are big or small. We scaled the problems and discussed why they feel big of small to us.
In maths lessons, we have been working on subtracting four digit numbers using column method and in English we are writing our own stories.

PGL School Journey
Wed 15 Nov 2023Dear Parents and Carers!
After a very wet journey to PGL, we put our cases down and settled in to our new environment!
The children have been having lot of fun so far and learning different skills. Please see pictures for some of the activities done so far.
The campfire was the highlight by far, roasted marshmellows and lots of singing.
Wednesday night we celebrated the end of a great 13115 steps hike and we all slept well.
When we return, we will tell you about the great landmarks we have seen.
The trapeze was one of the biggest challenges, getting to the top and punching the ball.
Children have challenged themselves and now don't even notice the rain.

YR3/4 Starling Class News @FP
Tue 14 Nov 2023Read all about it! Starling Class News @FP!
This week, we are coming to the end of our unit of addition and subtraction in maths. The children have worked really hard and used lots of different manipulatives to help them. Such as, dienes, counters and numicon.
In Art, we have been inspired by the work of Mbongeni Buthelezi. Come and see his artwork.
I’ve asked the children to start bringing soft plastics into school so we can create our own artwork. If you could gather any at home and please bring them into school next week. Thanks!

Oakbridge Nursery news
Thu 09 Nov 2023This week in Nursery we’ve had some very naughty buses come to visit, luckily our nursery children have been able to remember all our green rules to help our naughty bus with making the right choice.
The children have been counting people onto the bus, as well as discussing journeys of where we can go to on a bus, we’ve also been using our imaginations to think where and what we might see on the bus... bet you’ve never seen a dinosaur and a fire breathing dragon on the 336!? The children & the naughty buses have been going on different adventures, we haven’t been driving through muddy puddles we’ve been driving through messy BEANS and blue slush, what will we get up too next?

YR1 Hummingbird Class News @FP
Thu 09 Nov 2023Hummingbird class @FP had an enjoyable time re-enacting the story, ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ by Judith Kerr.
As part of their writing, they wrote sentences about parts of the story. Most of the children remembered to include capital letters and full stops. Well done children!
Hummingbird class were looking forward to attending their very own tea-party, but sadly, Mr Bond informed them that the ‘tiger’ had ruined it. Mysteriously, someone provided some yummy treats, so the children were able to have their tea-party after all. Who could that person be?
The children have been using their developing knowledge about ‘parts and wholes’ by putting ‘Fraction Girl’ back together again. They are also getting better at explaining what a ‘whole’ is, and how to make ‘parts’ using a range of objects.
Keep up the good work Hummingbird Class!
