As part of their English learning, Falcon Class @FP wrote speedy books for Dove class in KS1. Their speedy books were fun, easily accessible picture stories. At the end of the week, we welcomed Dove class and read to them.

"It made me feel like a real author. I feel independent to write." - Daisy-Mae Blake

"The little ones just listened in wonder as I read my speedy book." - Yigit Kanci

Hopefully we will see a lot more of Dove class and share our writing together again.

e have had a fantastic two weeks in Parakeet Class @FP. We have made new friends and completed lots of learning. We have made some class rules that we all think are fair and have discussed what we need as a class to be successful learners.

In English we are writing our own picture books. We have generated ideas, main characters and events and sequenced them. We have been learning about tense and practicing our handwriting. Have a look at some of our story plans!

In History this term we are learning about the Anglo Saxons and the Vikings. We learnt what happened after the Romans left Britain. We learnt all about the invading and settling and look forward to learning much more. Have a look at some of our work!

In DT we are learning all about different food groups and why they are important. We learnt what we need to eat more of and what we could do with a little less of. We are very knowledgeable about healthy diets and can help you all at home if you ask us!

What a fantastic start to the year! Year 2 Hummingbird class @FP have started the year as we mean to go on – learning and having fun.

We have been getting used to the routines and learning expectations of being in Year 2, and getting to know children from other classes last year. We’ve written quick books, studied the features of picture books together, and played games to get to know each other. It will be a great year, we can feel it!

What a wonderful first week we have had in Duckling Class @FP! We are so proud of how quickly the children have settled into their new routines. They have come into school with big smiles, lots of enthusiasm, and a real eagerness to learn.

Already, the children are beginning to build lovely new friendships. It has been a joy to see them sharing, taking turns, and helping one another as they explore their classroom and outdoor spaces.

This week, the children have been busy getting to know their new environment and showing us their creativity. They have had a go at writing their names and drawing self-portraits – we are very impressed with the effort and determination they have shown.

We are incredibly proud of each and every child for the confidence and kindness they have displayed in their first days at school. We know this is just the start of an exciting learning journey together, and we can’t wait to see all the wonderful things they will achieve this year.

Thank you for your support in helping make this transition so smooth.
