YR6 Hawk Class News @FP
This half term the children in YR6 Hawk class @FP thought they may be allowed to relax a bit – unfortunately, Forster Park was chosen for writing moderation leading us to spend a few weeks rewriting and editing previous work. The children worked hard and it was great to see the improvement in their writing. Marvellous Ajala wrote some beautiful pieces of fiction which moved the people assessing our work. The school achieved a pass rate of 73% and all the children should be proud in contributing to this mark which is above Lewisham’s and the National Average level of attainment (2023).
Biography (extract) by Marvellous Ajala:
My brother Emmanuel
Funny, loving, caring
Words are not easy
But the meaning is clear
In his eyes, in his smile
In his determination to prove his worth
My brother, Emmanuel
I wouldn’t change him for the world.
After all the hard work, we finally were able to leave the school and run off on a school trip to the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich and then onto the cable car over the Thames nearby. The students had a great time and did not moan about the walking (not much) and were so well behaved that it was commented upon by passers-by. The museum was extremely busy and there was so much to enjoy, especially the photographs within the exhibition for the Astronomy Photographer of the Year.
