YR4 Kingfisher Class News @FP
Last week, Kingfisher class @FP visited Chislehurst Caves to extend their History and Science learning beyond the classroom.
This term, in Science, we are learning all about rocks and fossils. The experts told us the caves had been carved out over hundreds of years. They were dug for chalk used in lime burning, brick making as well as flints to fire the tinderboxes and flintlock gun years ago.
The experts also told us flint was used by Neolithic people who used it as a vital tool for making weapons and tools. This term we have learnt all about prehistoric burial sites, hilltop forts and will be coming onto the Iron Age.
