YR1/2 Class News @FP
Year 2 @FP had an amazing time visiting Deptford Creekside Discovery Centre! We were learning all about The Great Fire of London, and we found out all about how the fire started, how long it lasted and why Samuel Pepys buried his wine and cheese!
We found out that fire was used for cooking and keeping warm, but that fire could also be very dangerous. Just like the baker Thomas Farriner, we got the chance to make our own bread!
We made a fire by finding flammable materials and then cooked our bread over it.
The best part was getting to eat our delicious bread afterwards, some of us had it with Jam! It was yummy!
We had so much fun getting hands-on with history and learning new skills. We were brave, curious and worked really well together. What an exciting day!
