Year 1/2 Heron Class News @FP
We’ve had a great term in Year 1/2 Heron class @FP and what a way to start our last week! On Monday, the children at Forster Park took part in an African Drumming workshop to celebrate Black History Month. We saw authentic costumes and instruments, heard and took part in songs and chants, and some of us even got to play along on djembes! Thank you so much for your contributions to allow us to have enjoyed this incredible experience.
We have been finishing off our learning on The Great Fire of London. After writing information picture books to show our learning, we published them. We also made plays to describe the changes in firefighting methods in London since the fire. We loved this unit and can’t wait to tell you all about it!
We topped off our learning this week with the super-fun spooky disco! Some children came in in costumes, some children danced themselves into a spin, some children just watched me dancing badly, but all children had a lovely time – and lovely snacks and refreshments thanks to the kind parent helpers (thanks so much) that made it all possible. A big thank you to Miss Hallett for making it all possible.
