A Musical Masterclass at the Barbican!

This week, Falcon and Kingfisher Classes @FP swapped the classroom for the world-renowned Barbican Concert Hall for an unforgettable musical adventure.

The children were treated to a spectacular performance by the Royal Symphony Orchestra, who brought the story of ‘The King Who Tried to Change His Fate’ to life through soaring strings and powerful percussion. It wasn’t just a show for sitting and listening, though; our talented pupils became part of the performance themselves! They joined in with a specially rehearsed song – What is Fate?, filling the massive hall with their voices alongside the professional musicians.

The atmosphere was electric, and the children showed such wonderful manners and enthusiasm throughout. The morning ended on a high note—quite literally—as the classes joined the rest of the audience in a thunderous standing ovation to thank the orchestra for such a moving performance.

A huge well done to all the children in Falcon and Kingfisher for representing our school so brilliantly in the heart of London. We certainly have some future conductors and composers in our midst

Did you know?

The Barbican Concert Hall is famous for its “acoustic clouds” on the ceiling, which help bounce the sound so that even the quietest triangle note can be heard right at the back of the room!
