YR 6 Eagle class @FP

Year 6 Eagle class @FP this half term in Science, pupils have been exploring the fascinating topic of Light, and their enthusiasm has been shining bright! Children have learned that light travels in straight lines, using this knowledge to explain how light reaches our eyes. Through hands-on experiments with torches, they discovered how shadows are formed when light is blocked and explored how the size of a shadow changes depending on the distance between the object and the light source. A real highlight was creating and comparing shadow puppet shows, which sparked lots of curiosity, scientific questions, and creativity. The children loved working scientifically by planning investigations, recording results, and testing their ideas using different obstacles. This week, learning continues as we explore how periscopes work! Ask your child what they’ve learned and how light helps us see around corners!
