Heron Class @FP – British Science Week! 

Heron Class have had a fantastic time celebrating British Science Week! We have been busy exploring lots of exciting scientific questions and carrying out our own investigations.

Our main enquiry this week was “Can seeds grow without soil?” After setting up our own experiments and observing carefully, we discovered that yes – seeds can grow without soil! We loved watching the changes each day and thinking like real scientists.

On Wednesday, we also enjoyed a carousel of fun science tests. The children experimented with making volcanoes erupt, explored different reactions and even investigated the probability of bread landing butter side down! There were lots of predictions, surprises and plenty of excitement along the way.

We also spent some time exploring different herbs, using our senses to smell and look closely at them. This has inspired us to start something special, and we are very excited to soon be opening Heron’s Herb Garden! 

It has been a brilliant week of curiosity, questioning and discovery in Heron Class!
