Forster Park Primary School

myHappymind

As part of our PSHE curriculum we have introduced a program to all year groups at school called myHappymind. myHappymind is all based around helping children to understand how their brain works and to support them in developing positive skills and habits to be their very best selves!
The NHS-backed myHappymind curriculum is grounded in scientific research and helps children to:

  • Feel happier
  • Know what to do when they feel worried or stressed
  • Improve their focus and learn more
  • Achieve more of the goals that they set for themselves
  • Develop better relationships with friends and families
  • Feel great about who they are and have positive self-esteem

It teaches the children to use preventative strategies which are firmly rooted in science, research, and the fields of neuroscience and positive psychology.
myHappymind is delivered at Forster Park by class teachers through a series of interactive lessons and then the children apply these learnings throughout the day.

To further embed this learning, myHappymind has developed a free Parent App. These resources can be accessed online on your computer, or through an app on your phone. The Parent App will support you as a parent in understanding what your child is learning, activities for you to do together at home and also a Kids Zone featuring myHappymind Games plus much more!

To access these materials just go to https://myhappymind.org/parent-resources to create your free account. You will need to enter your name, email, and authentication code.
Your authentication code is 100683

Or simply scan this QR code to sign up.  We really encourage you to make use of this free content so that you can support your child in getting the best out of the curriculum.

Every year group from Early Years to Year 6 has a separate version of the curriculum, with Year 6 focussing on transition.
The content is structured against five modules.

Each Year group works through the 5 modules together allowing for a whole school culture to build. There are also lessons on neurodiversity to enable the whole school community to better understand and embrace diversity.

We are proud to announce that we are a myHappymind Bronze Accredited school!
This means that as a school we consider the mental health and wellbeing of our children as one of our top priorities. We have created a whole school culture that helps build our children's resilience, confidence and self esteem as well as teaching them how to self regulate in those stressful times.

This Accreditation badge has been awarded thanks to all the effort our staff, children, governors and parents have put in to bring the lessons of myHappymind to life all around our school!
