They have made a tic tac toe game using felt, thread and buttons, unicorn finger puppets, made their own design and a Xmas decoration using binca , gold sequins , red felt and a shade of green thread of their choice.
They also received certificates for their amazing hard work.

  • YR1 Hummingbird Class News @FP

    Thu 14 Dec 2023

In Hummingbird class @FP, we had a special visitor, Zeus the tortoise! He came into class to help us learn about reptiles. We were able to feel and describe his scaly skin and we were surprised at how strong and quick he was.

We have found out that animals can be organised into different groups and have used our scientific knowledge to organise our own zoos. We can group animals and also use our observation skills to look closely at their features. We were able to visit the Warren rabbits and look at the mammals and find out from the Warren children how they care for them.  Mrs Banning bought in some fish and Mrs Dervish shared her birds so Hummingbird class could become experts about animals. Please look at some of our amazing learning.

  • YR5 Macaw Class News @FP

    Thu 14 Dec 2023

In English, our learning has been based around creating a science report. We have been learning about which materials are soluble and insoluble and how they create new solutions. For our investigation, the children conducted a fair test to find out which solutions would separate. They then used the features of a science report to create their own.

In art we have been looking at the Pop Art movement. The children have learnt about the work of Andy Warhol, Keith Harring and Rosalyn Drexler. They have then designed their own style of Pop Art based on their work. Check out some of the children’s amazing work!

  • Oakbridge Nursery news

    Tue 12 Dec 2023

Nursery have been saying goodbye to Autumn and hello to Winter. We’ve looked at the changes we can see and explored using our senses.

We’ve also welcomed Christmas into class. We’ve decorated our door like a gingerbread house, we’ve also been decorating our tree and sorting items into the correct bags just like little elves. Nursery have been using our fine motor skills to fill up Rudolph’s nose with red playdough balls, collecting magnetic coloured disks to create Christmas lights & Christmas/winter coloring.

It’s been such a busy time in Nursery but we’ve also squeezed in learning our Christmas nativity for this week and we can’t wait to show off our dance moves and songs that we’ve been practising. It’s so much fun at this time of the year and the children are enjoying all the festive fun!

Merry Christmas everyone, from the nursery team.

  • YR1 Dove Class News @FP

    Tue 05 Dec 2023

So far in Dove class @FP we have two children who have reached 200 dojo points for excellent behaviour, trying hard and always doing the right thing.

This week the children are finding out about looking after their teeth. They will be conducting an experiment using eggs, Coca Cola, orange juice, water and milk. We will be making predictions and will be observing over time what happens to the shells of the eggs. Finally we will be writing the results of the experiments which is all very exciting.

The children have been learning about their local area. They have been writing their addresses and making maps.
